From Dean:
We had a wonderful day ashore today. It was our day off from rowing. What wonderful terrain to hike on. There are beautiful high meadows covered with wild blueberry bushes only an inch or so high. We collected two water bottles full to go into bannock or pancakes tomorrow.

We've seen Minke whales, even a mother with her baby. Homer and I got within 50 feet of a magnificent buck caribou. But we haven't seen the wind and without it our progress is not very significant, given what we need to accomplish. Much of our recent progress down the coast has been to change harbors and to give us some sense of control over our own destiny.
