The only breeze is coming from my Thermarest as I roll my sleeping bag up - the mosquitoes have driven me out. We are eager to go anywhere, anything is preferred to sitting at the town dock (Itilleq) swatting bugs. The chorus of yelping sled dogs reminds us we are north of the Arctic Circle. Head nets are donned for our morning row companions - black flies. A comfortable pace was set, four miles in four hours using four oars for 20-minute sets, while Hodding played with the computer and Doug and Homer alternately prepared breakfast - "Goat Squeal" - John A.'s favorite.

Near Itilleq, headed for Sisimiut

Our morning row with black flies

About this time we received a slight headwind, which was enough to blow the bugs away and give us one of the best days yet! But no sailing, because the wind continued to pick up from the north. We soon anchored in the lee of an island and a shore party went to explore. The kayaks came out, and even a few boat projects were done. The generator has been on all day, as we are having problems with our batteries. We are looking forward to Sisimiut, when we can fix the problems and store the #$%@&! generator.

That's all for now - if I can relate anything you might be interested in up here, please let me know.

A happy captain (Terry). John Abbott took care of a potential chafe problem aloft and gets next dibs on the kayak.
